Hi Alex! I read your CD Talks on LinkedIn and was intrigued, especially liking your commentary about knowing the difference between a good idea and the right idea. As a creative director, I thought you might be interested in my new mystery, TEN THOUSAND FIELDS, which opens at the U of T and features Marshall McLuhan, famed Canadian Media Theorist, and coiner of the aphorism ‘the medium is the message.’ With all the recent controversy about ChatGPT and OpenAI, my new novel could not be more timely. How far AI has come in just a few short years. In the vein of Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451, my book not only highlights the importance and necessity of preserving literary and cultural writings against those destined to destroy them, but takes that premise several steps further, into a technological age (now near-present day) where the complete annihilation of all human-generated literature is not only possible, but achieved. Say goodbye to the human writer! The story also takes on the extreme psychic effects of technology on modern human/family interactions, including a story line that addresses the sad near-future of all artists, musicians, writers, and the publishing industry. I definitely support the arts and assume you do the same. I even got the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) onboard with this project!
